FREYDIS ERIKSDOTTIR

Freydis Eriksdottir was the daughter of Erik The Red around the year 970. She was an intense woman that took charge and got after it! There are a couple of legends that proceed her, but one is during a raid on Brittian while 8 months pregnant. Her raiding party was getting slaughtered and were retreating. Being 8 months pregnant, she couldn't run as fast so she was soon surrounded by the British. Turning up the heat she ripped her shirt open to punch exposed her breasts yelling in her native language taking on the rest of the British alone. The British began to be frightened at this bear of a woman, to either escape or were killed!

ABOUT

These beans currently come from the Kirimiro region of Burundi. Dominated by traditional subsistence farms, there are few cash crops like this one in Burundi.

SUSTAINABILITY

Picked, washed, pulped, dry fermented for 12 hours, washed for the next 12-36 hours then placed on raised beds for up to 12 days to dry. All this is done in smaller farms which created a higher quality bean rather than a large production. Paired with our bags that use 75% less material than your traditional bag in box bags. We have sustainability as a main priority!
